Sort Items Inside Chests and Storage Containers

Open Your Storage Container

Place or open any compatible container: regular chests, Ender Chests, barrels, or Shulker Boxes. Open the container's inventory screen.

Locate the Sort Button

Within the container's interface, find the sorting button (usually displayed as A→Z or a similar icon). This button works the same way as player inventory sorting.

Sort the Contents

Click the alphabetical sort button to organize all items in that container alphabetically. Items of the same type will stack together automatically, making it easier to locate specific items and maximizing storage space.

Reverse Sorting

If you prefer reverse alphabetical order (Z→A), click the alternate sort button. This is useful for organizing by rarity or personal preference.

Multiple Containers

You can sort each container independently. Open a different chest or barrel and repeat the process—sorting one container doesn't affect others.
