Troubleshoot Dark Spots in Well-Lit Areas

Why Some Areas Stay Dark

Even in well-lit bases, certain spots may show unsafe light levels on the overlay. This usually happens due to light obstruction or insufficient light source coverage.

Diagnosing and Fixing Problem Areas

1. Locate the dark overlay color — walk through your base and identify which specific blocks or corners show the unsafe color

2. Check for light blockers — look above and around the dark spot for full blocks, slabs, or stairs that might be blocking light from reaching it

3. Remove obstructions if possible — if a block is blocking light, consider replacing it with a transparent alternative like glass or a slab

4. Add a nearby light source — place a torch, lantern, or other light block adjacent to the dark area

5. Verify the fix — watch the overlay change as you add light; it should shift to a safe color

6. Adjust placement — if the dark spot persists, move your light source closer or add a second one nearby

The overlay provides instant visual feedback, so you'll immediately see whether your fix worked. This makes troubleshooting much faster than guessing.
