Issue Warnings and Track Player Behavior
Building a Punishment Record
Warnings are non-punitive records that help you document player behavior before escalating to mutes or bans. LibertyBans tracks all warnings with timestamps and reasons.
Steps
1. Warn a player using /warn <player> <reason>. For example: /warn PlayerName Disrespect.
2. Review their warning history by checking their punishment record in the plugin's database or audit log. This shows all previous warnings, mutes, and bans.
3. Escalate if necessary: After multiple warnings, consider issuing a mute or ban if behavior doesn't improve.
IP-Based Warnings
Use /ipw <IP> <reason> to warn all players from a specific IP address. This is useful for tracking problematic networks or shared connections.
Why Warnings Matter
Warnings create accountability and give players a chance to correct behavior. They also provide evidence if you need to justify a ban or mute to other moderators. Every warning is logged with the date, time, and moderator who issued it.
Clear Communication
Make your warning reason specific so the player understands what behavior needs to change.
