Shape and Bake Clay into Finished Pottery
Crafting Raw Pottery
Take your collected clay and craft it into raw (unfired) pottery items. You can shape clay into vases, planters, pots, plant bowls, and decorative bricks using crafting recipes. Each pottery style has its own recipe, so check your crafting menu to see which shapes appeal to you. Raw pottery items are fragile and won't function yet—they need to be hardened.
Firing in a Kiln or Furnace
Place your raw pottery into a kiln (the dedicated pottery furnace) or a regular furnace and apply heat. The kiln is more efficient for pottery work, but a standard furnace works in a pinch. After firing, your clay items harden into finished pottery that's durable and ready to use.
Once baked, your pottery can hold plants, store items (if it's an urn or amphore), or serve as decoration. You can now paint and glaze them to add color and patterns before placing them around your base.
