How to Make the Mob Preventing Your Sleep Glow So You Can Find It

Why You Can't Sleep

When you right-click a bed and get the "you may not rest now, there are monsters nearby" message, a hostile mob is somewhere within the check radius of the bed. The problem is that mob can be behind a wall, under the floor, in a cave below you, or in a dark corner you can't see. The Let Me Sleep Mod solves this by making the offending mob glow with the vanilla glowing outline effect, so you can spot it through blocks.

Steps to Find and Deal With the Mob

1. Try to sleep in your bed as normal. When the sleep attempt fails, look around for any mob that now has a bright white outline.

2. The outline renders through terrain, so check above, below, and behind your walls — not just the open room.

3. Common culprits are skeletons, zombies, creepers, and spiders that spawned in unlit caves or behind your base. Dig toward the glow or light up the area to stop future spawns.

4. Remember that only mobs which actually block sleeping get highlighted. Passive mobs and mobs that don't prevent rest (like zombified piglins) stay normal, so the glow is a reliable signal.

5. Once you remove or light up the highlighted mob, right-click the bed again to confirm you can now sleep.

If nothing glows but you still can't sleep, check the mod's config — the highlight feature may be toggled off, or the mob may be just outside the detection range.
