Lenient Death: Soften Dying Without Full keepInventory

How Lenient Death Works

Lenient Death is a small, single-purpose mod that softens the penalty of dying without enabling full keepInventory. When a player dies, the mod records their inventory, worn armor, and XP levels, so nothing is permanently lost to an unfair hazard.

After a fatal accident, the exact death coordinates and dimension are posted directly into the chat window, making it easy to find where you fell. Dropped item stacks also receive a bright colored outline, so they stand out on the ground instead of blending into the terrain.

Server administrators can review the death log history and use chat commands to return or replace items that were lost unfairly. This keeps survival challenging while giving operators a way to correct deaths caused by bugs, lag, or other hazards rather than player mistakes.

Because the mod only stores and reports death data, it does not change normal gameplay balance beyond the added visibility and recovery options.
