Prevent Unwanted Leaf Decay in Your Build

Understanding Type-Specific Decay

The mod only decays leaves that match the tree type whose trunk you broke. This means decorative or landscaping leaves won't vanish unless you specifically break their source trunk.

Protecting Your Leaves

1. Don't break tree trunks near your leaf builds or decorations

2. Use leaves from different tree types if you're building near active logging areas—oak leaves won't decay if you only cut birch trees

3. Keep distance between your leaf structures and any trees you plan to harvest

If Decay Happens Accidentally

If you accidentally triggered decay on leaves you wanted to keep, you'll need to replant and regrow that tree type, or use creative mode to restore them. The mod has no undo feature.

Configuration Option

If the mod supports configuration files, check if decay speed can be disabled entirely or set to a slower rate, allowing you more control over when leaves disappear.
