Reduce Server Lag When Players Use Random Teleport

Why LeafRTP Doesn't Cause Lag

Unlike instant teleport mods, LeafRTP pre-generates safe landing spots on separate threads before players actually teleport. This means chunk loading and block scanning happen off the main server thread, preventing tick drops.

Optimization Settings

You can further reduce load by adjusting:

  • Search thread count: Fewer threads = less CPU usage, but slower spot-finding
  • Chunk pre-load distance: Smaller distances mean faster scans but potentially fewer options
  • Scan frequency: Control how often the mod searches for new safe spots

Monitoring Performance

Use the in-game menu to view statistics about how many safe spots have been cached and how long recent searches took. If searches are slow, your region may be too large or have too many unsafe areas. Consider splitting large regions into smaller ones, or adjusting biome/height restrictions to reduce the search space.

The spiral distribution pattern also helps by spreading players out, reducing congestion around popular spawn areas.
