How to Understand Deaths Per Hour and Other Calculated Metrics
What Deaths Per Hour Means
Deaths per hour is a calculated metric that normalizes your death count against your playtime. Instead of just showing raw deaths, it tells you how frequently you die relative to how long you've been playing. A player with 100 deaths across 50 hours has a different deaths-per-hour rate than someone with 100 deaths across 100 hours.
Using Calculated Stats for Comparison
These derived metrics are useful for comparing players fairly, even if they've played different amounts. Two players with vastly different playtimes can be ranked equally on a level playing field using rates and averages.
Other Metrics to Watch
Beyond deaths per hour, the mod may calculate:
- Average distance per play session
- Mob kills relative to playtime
- Survival efficiency (playtime versus deaths)
These help you identify trends in your gameplay and see how your efficiency compares to others on the server.
