Mine Strategically on Multiple Levels

Lavaflow's 3D terrain creates multiple mining heights. Don't just strip-mine at one level—explore different elevations within the same area. Ore distribution varies with terrain, so mining at valley floors, mid-slopes, and ridge tops yields different resources.

Avoid Lava Pockets While Mining

When excavating, listen for lava sounds and watch for orange glows. Lavaflow's terrain features mean lava pockets are common at various depths. Dig carefully and always have water buckets ready. Mine in pairs when possible—one person can respond to lava emergencies while the other continues work.

Establish Mining Camps

Set up temporary bases near resource-rich areas rather than commuting long distances. Stock these camps with tools, water, and escape routes. This reduces travel time and lets you focus on efficient extraction.

Map Biome Resources

Different Lavaflow biomes contain different ore distributions and unique blocks. Once you've identified biome locations, plan mining expeditions to specific biomes for targeted resource gathering. This is faster than random exploration.
