How to Make Mixed Ore Deposits with Set Proportions
Mixed deposits are one of the mod's signature features: a single massive vein containing several different ores in proportions you choose. This is great for themed mining areas or for making a deposit feel like a real geological formation.
Plan the mix
Decide which ores belong together and roughly how much of each you want. For example, a deposit could be predominantly one base metal with smaller amounts of a rarer ore scattered through it. The mod lets you specify proportions, so the relative weights you set determine how often each ore appears within the vein.
Build it with commands first
Use the /lods commands to create or edit a deposit and add multiple ores to it. Set each ore's proportion value, then test by generating the deposit in a fresh area. Because deposits are huge, a single test vein gives you a good sample of whether the proportions feel right. If one ore dominates too much, lower its weight and test again.
Save it to the Deposits folder
When the mix looks good, write the same settings into a config file in the adlods/Deposits folder so it persists and can be shared. Give it a clear config name, since that name is what appears in /lods list deposits.
Consider restrictions and indicators
Mixed deposits often work best limited to certain biomes or dimensions so they feel special. You can also attach an above-ground indicator so players can spot the vein from the surface. Verify with /lods list generated that your mixed deposit is actually appearing in the world.
