How to Configure Ore Deposits with the /lods Commands

The mod is built around configuration, and you can do most of it live in-game with commands. This is ideal for testing before committing changes to a world.

Inspect what you have

Start with /lods list deposits. This prints every available deposit and its config name. The config name is the deposit name, so whatever you see in chat is what you would edit in the adlods/Deposits folder later. Use /lods list generated to see which deposits have actually spawned, which helps you judge whether your rarity settings are too high or too low.

Tweak parameters

Each deposit exposes simple parameters — things like the ores it contains, their proportions, its size, its rarity, and any restrictions on dimension or biome. Mixed deposits let you specify several ores with relative proportions, so you can create a vein that is mostly iron with a scattering of gold, for example. When you change a value, test it in a fresh area or a new world so you are not comparing against already-generated chunks.

Move from commands to files

Once you are happy with a deposit in-game, mirror those settings into a config file placed in the adlods/Deposits folder. That folder is also how you add support for ores the mod does not ship with — define the deposit there and it becomes available like any built-in one. Keep your test world separate from your main world while experimenting.
