Reducing Bloom Effect Around Light Sources
Open Shader Configuration
Access the shader settings menu in-game. Navigate to the visual effects or lighting section where bloom controls are typically grouped.
Locate Bloom Settings
Find sliders or toggles labeled:
- Bloom Strength: The primary control for bloom intensity around torches, glowstone, and other light sources.
- Bloom Radius: Determines how far the bloom glow spreads from its source.
- Bloom Threshold: Controls which light sources trigger bloom (useful for preventing bloom on dim lights).
Adjust to Your Preference
Reduce the bloom strength slider if the glow feels too intense or washed out. Lowering the radius makes bloom tighter and more concentrated. If you want bloom only on bright sources like lava and glowstone, increase the threshold value.
Performance Consideration
Bloom is relatively lightweight in Lantern Shaders, but reducing it slightly can help on very old systems. Test changes in different lighting conditions—caves, night scenes, and areas with many torches show bloom effects most clearly.
