Troubleshoot Flickering or Visual Artifacts

Identify the Problem

Flickering often occurs when shader settings conflict with your graphics card or driver. Note where artifacts appear: on water surfaces, in shadows, or across all blocks. This helps pinpoint the cause.

Adjust Lighting Precision Settings

Open Shader Options and look for:

  • Shadow Quality or Shadow Distance: Lower these values
  • Block Light Smoothing: Enable or disable to test stability
  • Ambient Occlusion: Try toggling this off

Reset to Defaults

If adjustments don't help, reset shader options to default settings. This often resolves conflicts introduced by custom tweaks. Return to your world and verify the flickering stops.

Update or Reinstall

If problems persist, try reinstalling LAN Shaders. Corrupted shader files can cause visual glitches. After reinstall, apply only one setting change at a time to identify which option causes issues on your system.
