Adjust Lighting Brightness to Your Preference

Access Shader Settings

LAN Shaders provides lighting adjustments through the shader options menu. Open your in-game settings and navigate to Video Settings, then select Shaders. Find LAN Shaders in your active shader list and click the Shader Options button (usually a gear icon).

Modify Brightness Controls

Within the shader options, you'll find sliders for:

  • Brightness: Increase to make dark areas more visible during cave exploration or night time
  • Contrast: Adjust how dramatically light and shadow differ
  • Block Lighting: Control how much natural block light (torches, lava, glowstone) contributes to overall illumination

Small adjustments go a long way—LAN Shaders is designed for subtle changes. Move sliders incrementally and check results in-game before making larger jumps.

Test Your Changes

After adjusting settings, return to your world and visit different environments: caves, forests, and water areas. This helps you see how your brightness choices affect visibility without washing out the vanilla aesthetic. You can return to shader options at any time to fine-tune further.
