How to Get Snow on Fences and Non-Full Blocks with Better Snow

What Better Snow Does

Lambda Better Grass includes a Better Snow feature that lets snow sit realistically on blocks that are not full cubes — fences, walls, and similar shapes — instead of leaving them bare while the ground around them is white. This is a visual feature, so it only appears once the conditions for snow are already met in your world.

Steps to See It Working

1. Make sure the Better Snow option is enabled in the mod's config.

2. Go to a snowy biome, or build in one, so that snow layers naturally form.

3. Place fences, walls, or other non-full blocks and let snow accumulate around them, or place snow layers next to them manually.

4. Watch the tops of those blocks — with the feature on, they receive a snow overlay that matches the surrounding terrain.

If Snow Is Not Appearing

Check that you are actually in a biome or area where snow can form, since the feature does not create snow out of nothing. Also confirm no other mod is overriding snow placement or block rendering. If fences stay bare while full blocks are covered, the Better Snow toggle is the first thing to re-check, followed by resource pack compatibility, since the snow overlay needs matching textures to display correctly.
