How to Fix Grass That Still Looks Tiled or Unconnected

First, Rule Out the Obvious

Connected textures only appear when the mod, a compatible resource pack, and the block layout all cooperate. Before changing settings, confirm you are looking at the top faces of grass blocks from a normal viewing angle — the effect is most visible on large flat areas, not single isolated blocks.

Troubleshooting Order

1. Confirm Lambda Better Grass is enabled in the mod list.

2. Switch to a resource pack that is known to include connected texture support, then reload packs.

3. Test a large patch of grass, not one or two blocks — a single block has nothing to connect to.

4. Check for other mods that alter grass block models, connected textures, or block rendering, and disable them temporarily.

5. Restart the game fully if reloading packs does not refresh the textures.

When It Is Working Correctly

You should see grass, podzol, mycelium, paths, and nylium each merging with blocks of their own type, with no repeated tile pattern across a wide area. If some block types connect and others do not, the problem is almost always the resource pack missing textures for that specific block, not the mod itself. Test each block type separately to narrow it down.
