What Worktable Patterns Do

The Worktable is Eidolon's magical crafting table. Kubejs Eidolon lets you design custom patterns—the shapes and arrangements of items needed to craft something.

Designing Your Pattern

Define a worktable recipe by:

• Creating a grid layout: Arrange input items in a specific shape (like a cross, line, or custom formation)
• Setting inputs: Assign which items go in each grid position
• Defining output: What the player receives when complete
• Adding costs: Specify mana or other resource requirements

Patterns can be simple (straight line) or complex (intricate shapes). The visual layout matters—players must arrange items exactly as your pattern shows.

Using Your Pattern

Players place items on the Worktable following your pattern layout, then activate it. If correct, the output appears. This is excellent for:

• Creating visually interesting crafting sequences
• Gating recipes behind pattern knowledge
• Making crafting feel more magical and intentional

Test patterns in creative mode to ensure the grid layout is clear and achievable.
