Adjust Lighting and Shadow Intensity
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated shader settings key (usually accessed through your graphics or mod menu). Look for the Kinescope Shaders configuration panel.
Customize Shadow and Lighting
Locate sliders or toggles for shadow softness, shadow distance, and overall brightness. Kinescope offers granular control over how soft shadows appear on blocks and terrain, and how highlights balance across your world.
- Shadow Softness: Increase for movie-like diffused shadows; decrease for sharper, more defined edges
- Brightness/Exposure: Adjust to compensate for darker biomes or to brighten caves and interiors
- Highlight Balance: Fine-tune how much light reflects off water, glass, and bright blocks
Apply and Test
Save your changes and move through different biomes and lighting conditions—caves, forests, and open sky—to see how your adjustments feel. Reopen settings and tweak further if needed. Most players find a balance between cinematic depth and visibility for gameplay.
