Understand What Kilt Mod Does Behind the Scenes

Code Translation

Kilt Mod automatically converts Forge mod code into a format that Fabric's loader can understand. When you place a Forge .jar file in your mods folder, Kilt intercepts it and rewrites the internal code structure without changing the mod's functionality.

System Bridge

Forge and Fabric use different underlying systems for hooks, events, and mod communication. Kilt creates a translation layer that allows these systems to "speak" to each other. When a Forge mod tries to hook into a game event, Kilt converts that request into Fabric's event system, and vice versa.

Built-in Dependencies

Normally, Forge mods require the Forge framework to be installed separately. Kilt includes all necessary Forge rules and systems within itself, so you don't need to download Forge separately. This means Forge mods can run on a pure Fabric installation.

Limitations

Kilt cannot bridge every possible incompatibility. Mods that rely on very specific Forge internals or make assumptions about the game's structure may still fail to load properly.
