Identify Open Spaces

The Khmer Temple Map has several types of areas suited for player additions. Courtyards with rectangular water pools offer flat, open ground perfect for building structures. The outer areas near the trees and green plants provide space away from the main architecture. Walkways between towers have alcoves and recessed areas where smaller builds fit naturally.

Strategic Placement

Respect symmetry. If you build on one side of a courtyard, consider mirroring it on the opposite side to match the temple's design philosophy.

Use the moat edges. The wide water surrounding the complex has banks and shallow areas where you can add docks, gardens, or small pavilions without disrupting the main structure.

Work within alcoves. Rather than building over the main walkways, nestle structures into existing recessed areas or against tower bases.

Enhance the pools. The calm water pools are focal points. Add seating areas, decorative plants, or meditation spaces around their perimeters.

Consider sight lines. Build where your additions won't block views of the central towers from the bridges—these are key visual elements of the map.
