Exploring the Temple Complex Without Getting Lost
Understand the Layout
The Khmer Temple Map is built with strong symmetry. The central towers serve as your main landmark—they're visible from almost everywhere and help you orient yourself. The complex is organized in concentric rings: outer bridges lead to courtyards, which lead inward to the tallest structures.
Navigation Tips
Start at a bridge entrance. The grand stone bridges are the main access points. Cross one and note which direction the central towers are. This becomes your reference point.
Follow the walkways. Symmetrical pathways connect different sections. Rather than wandering randomly, stick to these stone-paved routes—they'll guide you through courtyards and past water pools in a logical sequence.
Use the water features as markers. The moat surrounds the outer edge, and rectangular pools sit within courtyards. If you reach water, you know you're at a boundary or courtyard center.
Climb the towers. The tall central structures offer views of the entire complex. Ascending them helps you see where you haven't explored yet and plan your next route.
Mark your path. Place blocks or torches at intersections if you want to ensure you can retrace your steps back to an exit bridge.
