Flying Underground Without Getting Lost

Enable FreeCam and Adjust Your View

Press F6 to activate FreeCam mode. Your character will remain visible to others at your last position, while you can fly freely through blocks.

Navigate Underground Safely

When flying through solid blocks, it's easy to lose your sense of direction. Use these strategies:

• Mark your entry point: Note landmarks or use a waypoint mod to remember where you entered the underground.
• Fly slowly: Hold shift to descend gradually rather than plunging deep quickly.
• Use ClearVision: Press F7 to activate the brightness mod, which illuminates caves and tunnels so you can see ore deposits, structures, and passages more clearly.
• Return to surface: Press F6 again to exit FreeCam. You'll teleport back to where your character was standing.

Explore Methodically

Fly in a grid pattern or follow cave systems rather than flying randomly. This helps you map the underground mentally and find your way back. If you're exploring a specific area like a mine or dungeon, circle around it at different heights to get a complete picture before diving deeper.

Remember: other players on servers won't see your FreeCam movement, so coordinate with teammates if you're scouting for a group project.
