Checking the Day Counter Without Breaking Immersion
It's Always Visible
One of the mod's strengths is that the day number lives on the HUD above the hotbar, so you never have to pause, open a menu, or type a command to see it. That means you can check the day while mining, fighting, or building without interrupting what you're doing.
Tips for Minimal Distraction
- Peripheral vision: Train yourself to read the number with a quick glance rather than staring at it. It's small and unobtrusive by design.
- Hide the hotbar? If you use a keybind or setting to hide the hotbar for screenshots, be aware the counter sits in that same area — check whether it hides along with it before relying on it in a cinematic shot.
- Screenshots and videos: The counter will appear in captured footage unless you crop it out, which is handy for timestamping a let's-play but something to plan around for clean thumbnails.
When You Actually Need the Number
Moments like deciding whether it's safe to sleep, timing a raid, or logging progress are exactly when a persistent counter shines. Since it's passive, there's nothing to toggle — just look up when the information matters and ignore it the rest of the time.
