How to Use Cores to Upgrade Your Hammer

What Cores Are

Cores are the crafting components that transform a base hammer into an advanced variant. The mod includes several core types: Destruction Core, Impact Core, Reinforced Core, and Reinforced Impact Core. Each core corresponds to a hammer variant.

Upgrade Workflow

1. Craft the base hammer for your chosen material (stone, iron, gold, diamond, or netherite).

2. Craft the core that matches the variant you want.

3. Combine the base hammer and the core in a crafting grid to produce the upgraded hammer.

Matching Cores to Variants

  • Reinforced Core → Reinforced Hammer
  • Impact Core → Impact Hammer
  • Destruction Core → Destructor Hammer
  • Reinforced Impact Core → Reinforced Impact Hammer

Practical Advice

Cores are the bottleneck, not the hammers. Gather core ingredients before you commit to a material tier, because upgrading a diamond hammer with a cheap core wastes the diamond if you later want a different variant. Decide your end goal first: if you want a Netherite Reinforced Impact Hammer, plan the full chain from base netherite hammer through the Reinforced Impact Core.

Storage Tip

Keep cores in a dedicated chest near your crafting table so you can upgrade hammers on the fly without hunting through your base.
