How to View Mob Drops and Dungeon Loot in JEI with Just Enough Resources
Just Enough Resources hooks into JEI so you can see what every mob and loot chest can give you, without ever opening the game's files. Here's how to actually read those screens.
Finding Mob Drops
Open your inventory and bring up the JEI overlay. Search for a mob's spawn egg or its name. Hover over the entry and press the JEI keybind for Uses (usually right-click or the assigned key). JER adds a dedicated tab showing the mob's drop table: guaranteed drops, rare drops, and any equipment or special items it can carry. Each entry lists the item and the conditions under which it drops, so you can tell the difference between a common drop and a low-chance one.
Reading Dungeon and Chest Loot
Search for a chest, a dungeon loot item, or a structure-related block. The JER loot tab shows the pool of items that can generate inside that container, grouped by rarity tier. This is how you check whether a specific structure is worth farming for a particular item before you commit to exploring.
Practical Tips
- If a tab looks empty, the mob or container may not have a registered loot table in your pack.
- Modded mobs appear automatically as long as their loot tables exist.
- Use this view to plan farms: target mobs whose rare drops you actually need rather than guessing.
