How to Get Started with Just Dire Things: Blazegold and Blaze Ember Basics
Finding Your First Resources
Just Dire Things centers on two early materials: Blazegold and Blaze Ember. Blazegold comes from Blazegold Ingots, which you smelt or craft from raw materials gathered in the world. Blaze Ember is the mod's fuel and crafting component, and it can be crafted into Blaze Ember Blocks for compact storage or burned as Blaze Ember Fuel in generators and machines.
Start by mining until you find the ores or drops that yield Blazegold. Once you have a few ingots, craft a Blazegold Pickaxe and Blazegold Sword — these are your gateway tools. Blazegold gear is a clear step above vanilla iron and is intended to carry you into the mod's automation tier.
Setting Up a Basic Workshop
Place a chest near your crafting area for Blazegold Ingots and a separate chest for Blaze Ember. Craft Blaze Ember into Blaze Ember Blocks so they stack efficiently, then break them back down when you need loose Ember. Keep a stack of Blaze Ember Fuel on hand — you will feed it into machines later.
Once you have spare Blazegold, upgrade your armor slots to Blazegold Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, and Boots. With tools and armor sorted, you are ready to look at the mod's automation blocks like the Advanced Block Breaker and Advanced Block Placer.
