Export a Vanilla Entity Model as JSON

Using the Dump Feature

JsonEM allows you to extract built-in Minecraft entity models and convert them into editable JSON files. This is useful when you want to modify vanilla creatures without starting from scratch.

Steps

1. Launch your game with JsonEM installed

2. Locate the mod's dump command or configuration folder (typically found in your mod's data directory)

3. Run the dump function to extract entity models from the game's resources

4. The mod will generate JSON files for available entities in a designated output folder

5. Open these JSON files in a text editor or Blockbench to view the model structure

What You'll Get

The exported JSON contains the entity's geometry data, including bone structures, rotations, and texture mappings. You can now edit this file directly or import it into Blockbench for visual editing. Remember that these files represent the TexturedModelData format that JsonEM uses, making them compatible with the mod's import system.

Once modified, you can reimport your edited JSON back into the game through your resource pack or mod configuration.
