Prevent Ghast Explosions from Destroying Your Nether Base

Disable Terrain Damage

When Ghasts are defeated near your builds, their crash explosions can destroy blocks and leave craters. To protect your structures, you can disable this griefing behavior.

Steps

1. Open the chat window (T key by default)

2. Type the command: /gamerule DoFallingGhastsGrief false

3. Press Enter to confirm

What This Changes

With this gamerule disabled, defeated Ghasts will still tumble from the sky and crash to the ground with visual effects, but the explosions won't damage terrain or destroy blocks. Loot drops and experience orbs still appear at the original defeat location, so you lose nothing.

This is especially useful if you're building in the Nether or fighting Ghasts near valuable structures. You can toggle this back on at any time by running the same command with true instead of false.
