Enable Command History in Your Server Console

Access Previous Commands

Once JLine is active on your dedicated server console, you can scroll through commands you've previously typed without retyping them.

Using Command History

1. Start your server with the nogui flag in your launch script or command line

2. Open the server console window

3. Press the Up arrow key to cycle backward through your command history

4. Press the Down arrow key to cycle forward through recent commands

5. When you find the command you want, press Enter to execute it

Tips for Efficient History Use

Command history persists during your current server session. This is especially useful for:

  • Repeated administrative commands (bans, kicks, teleports)
  • Complex commands with specific coordinates or player names
  • Testing command variations without full retyping

If you need to modify a command from history, use the Left and Right arrow keys to position your cursor, then edit the text before pressing Enter.
