View Vein Count Per Chunk

Open JEI and find the ore you're interested in. The tooltip displays how many ore veins generate per chunk in your world. This number tells you how common the ore is—higher numbers mean more frequent finds.

Use This to Plan Your Mining Route

If an ore has low vein density, you'll need to explore more chunks to find it. If density is high, you can focus on a smaller area. This helps you decide between strip-mining a large region or searching through caves.

Account for Randomness

Vein counts represent averages. You might find more or fewer veins than expected in any given chunk due to Minecraft's random generation. Use the number as a guide, not a guarantee.

Compare Ores by Rarity

Hover over multiple ores to compare their vein densities side by side. This helps you prioritize which materials are worth the mining effort. Rarer ores might require deeper exploration or larger mining operations to gather efficiently.
