Jauml Mod: JSON Configuration Guide

Managing Mod Settings with Jauml

Jauml Mod is a lightweight framework for handling JSON-based configuration in other mods. Rather than each mod rolling its own config system, Jauml provides a shared structure for defining, reading, and editing settings.

For modders, this means settings are declared in a clear, structured JSON format instead of custom code. For modpack creators and players, it means config files stay readable and consistent across any mod built on the framework.

A key feature is hot-reloading. When a config file changes, Jauml can apply the new values without requiring a game restart, so you can tweak settings and see the effect immediately.

The mod is dependency-free and intentionally small, so it adds minimal overhead to a pack. It does not add items, blocks, or gameplay on its own — it only exists to make configuration management simpler for the mods that use it. If a mod lists Jauml as a requirement, install it alongside that mod and edit settings through the JSON files it generates.
