Prepare Your Defenses

Before sunset, ensure your house is secure:

1. Close all doors and seal any large openings

2. Light up interior rooms with torches or lanterns—place them on walls and ceilings to eliminate dark corners

3. Build walls or fences around the perimeter if you want to create a protected zone

4. Stock beds in the house so you can sleep through the night safely

Create a Safe Room

Designate an interior chamber as your refuge. Stock it with food, weapons, and healing items. This room should have a door you can close and windows you can defend from if needed.

Expand Defenses Over Time

Once you've gathered stone and other materials, consider building a protective wall around the estate. The open gardens and ponds make good locations for defensive structures. Watchtowers near the house corners give you vantage points to spot approaching mobs.
