Finding and Exploring All the Shrines
Locate Shrine Positions
Shrines in this map are intentionally placed around the perimeter of the main village area. Begin your search by circling the central settlement at a moderate distance. Shrines are typically elevated slightly and feature distinctive architectural elements like torii gates or prayer structures that stand out from residential buildings.
Search Methodically
Divide the village into sections and explore each quadrant thoroughly. Pay attention to small clearings in the dark forest—shrines are often positioned in these open spaces rather than deep within dense trees. Listen for ambient sounds that might indicate a shrine area.
Document Your Findings
Once you locate a shrine, note its position relative to major landmarks like the pagoda or the onsen. Some shrines may have decorative elements or landscaping that makes them worth photographing. Check if any shrines have interior spaces or connected structures—some may include small prayer halls or meditation areas.
Return to each shrine during different times (if using day/night cycles) to see how lighting changes the atmosphere and reveals details you might have missed.
