How to Switch Between Tools Quickly with ItemSwapper

Open the tool list

Hold an item that has a mapped category in your main hand — a pickaxe, axe, shovel, sword, or hoe all belong to the tool list. Press the ItemSwapper hotkey (default R) and keep it held. Instead of a radial wheel you will see a vertical list of related tools pulled from your inventory.

Pick and release

Scroll the mouse wheel to move the highlight up and down the list, or move the mouse if a wheel is shown. When the tool you want is highlighted, release the hotkey. The item in your main hand is swapped with the highlighted one, so you can go from pickaxe to axe without ever opening your inventory.

Tips for smooth swapping

• Keep your tools in one area of your inventory so the list stays short and predictable.
• If the list does not appear, the item you are holding has no mapping — try a different tool or a block from a known palette.
• The same list works for food, potions, and other dynamic items, so you can cycle between cooked and raw food or between potion types the same way.
• Because the swap happens on release, you can change your mind mid-scroll and let go on the original item to cancel.
