How to Make Item Borders Match Loot Beams Colors
What the Sync Does
Item Borders can synchronize with the Loot Beams mod so that the colored outline on an item in your inventory matches the beam color that item produces when it drops in the world. This gives you one consistent color language: the same item looks the same whether it's on the ground or in your bag.
Setting Up the Sync
Both mods need to be installed for the sync to function. Open the Item Borders config and find the option that controls Loot Beams synchronization, then enable it. With sync on, Item Borders derives border colors from the beam colors Loot Beams already assigns, rather than from your own color rules. That means the place to change a color is the Loot Beams configuration, not the Item Borders one.
Resolving Conflicts
If you have both manual color rules in Item Borders and sync enabled, decide which should win. Sync is best when you want automatic, consistent coloring with no upkeep. Manual rules are better when you want a specific item to stand out in a color Loot Beams doesn't use. Turn sync off if your hand-written rules aren't showing up, then re-enable it once you're happy with the beam colors. Reload the config after any change and verify by dropping an item and comparing its beam to its inventory border.
