Create Your First Minecart Train

Gather Your Materials

Before linking carts, you'll need an iron chain in your main hand and at least two minecarts placed on a rail track. Make sure the track is clear and functional.

Link the Carts Together

1. Hold the iron chain in your main hand

2. Sneak (hold Shift) and right-click on the first minecart to designate it as your lead cart

3. Sneak and right-click on the second minecart to attach it behind the first

4. Continue sneaking and right-clicking additional carts to extend your train in sequence

You'll see blue chain particles appear between connected carts, confirming the link is active. The lead cart will now pull all trailing carts along the track while maintaining consistent spacing. The carts will follow the rails smoothly without derailing or separating unexpectedly.

Test Your Train

Push or ride the lead cart to test your train. All linked carts should move together as one unit. If any cart falls behind or breaks away, check that all connections were made correctly by verifying the visible chain links between each cart.
