How to Fix a Generator That Isn't Producing Energy

Check Fuel First

The most common cause is an empty or invalid fuel slot. Open the generator's interface and confirm there is burnable fuel inside. Coal, charcoal, and wood logs work; items like sticks may or may not depending on config. If the fuel slot is full but the generator is idle, the internal energy buffer may already be full and nothing is drawing power out.

Check the Output Side

Generators only push energy to a valid receiver. Make sure a cable, machine, or energy storage block is touching the correct output face. Some generators have a configurable output side; if you rotated the block when placing it, the output may be facing a wall. Break and replace the generator, or use a wrench if the mod provides one, to reorient it.

Check Augments and Config

  • An Overdrive Augment with a bad config can cause the generator to shut down. Remove augments and test.
  • Server configs can disable specific tiers or change fuel values. If a generator worked yesterday and not today, ask your server admin.
  • If the generator shows a red indicator, it may be overheating. Let it cool or remove Speed/Overdrive augments.

Last Resort

Pick up the generator and place it again. This resets its internal state and often clears stuck output logic.
