How to Build Your First Iron Generator Setup

Crafting the Generator

Start by crafting a Stone Generator, the entry tier of the mod. You will need a furnace, some stone, and a few basic materials to assemble it. Once placed, the Stone Generator accepts solid fuels like coal, charcoal, or wood in its fuel slot. It produces a small trickle of energy, enough to run a few basic machines.

Upgrading to Iron

To move up, craft an Upgrade Base and combine it with the appropriate materials to make a Stone to Iron Generator Upgrade. Right-click the upgrade onto your placed Stone Generator (or craft them together, depending on your version) to convert it in place. The Iron Generator burns the same fuels but outputs more energy per tick and stores a larger internal buffer.

Practical Tips

• Keep a chest of coal nearby so you are not constantly refueling.
• Generators push energy out automatically to adjacent machines or cables.
• Do not chain generators into each other; feed them into a cable or energy storage block instead.
• If nothing is receiving power, check that the generator's output side is facing your machine.

Once your Iron Generator is running steadily, you can start planning the next upgrade toward Gold.
