How to Quick-Move Items Without Repeated Clicking

Shift-Move Shortcut

The core quality-of-life feature of Inventory Essentials is the ability to send items across the screen with a single Shift-move, skipping the usual pick-up-and-place routine.

1. Open the container screen.

2. Hold Shift.

3. Click the item you want to move.

The stack jumps straight to the other inventory. No cursor item, no second click. This mirrors the vanilla Shift-click behavior but is extended so it works consistently across the mod's supported screens.

Combining With Other Moves

You can chain the shortcuts in one session:

  • Shift-click to send a whole stack across.
  • Control-click to send a single item across.
  • Shift + Control-click to send every stack of that item type across.

This means you rarely need to drag items with the cursor at all. For sorting a chest after a trip, Shift-click the stacks you want to keep in storage, then use Shift + Control-click on anything duplicated so all copies land together.

If a move does not happen, check that the destination has space and that you are not holding an item on the cursor, since a held item blocks normal transfer behavior in most inventory screens.
