Index Your First Chest and Search for Items

Opening the Search Menu

Press the mod's search hotkey (default keybind varies by installation) to open the in-game search screen. The mod begins indexing containers automatically as you open them—simply walk around your base and open chests, barrels, shulker boxes, and other storage blocks as you normally would.

Finding an Item

Once you've opened at least one container, type the name of any item into the search bar. The mod will display:

  • The item name and stack count
  • Which chest(s) contain it
  • How many of that item exist across all indexed containers

Click on a result to highlight that chest in your world. You'll see a visual marker appear on the container and a distance indicator on your locator bar, making it easy to walk straight to your items.

Building Your Index

The more containers you open, the more complete your index becomes. The mod only knows about chests you've personally opened in that world, so take time to visit all your storage areas at least once. Your index persists and updates automatically as you add or remove items from containers.
