Creating Realistic Underground Metro Tunnels
Tunnel Design Basics
Use the custom metro tunnel blocks from the MP Base system to construct your underground passages. These blocks feature authentic Soviet-era tiling, concrete textures, and support pillars. Plan your tunnel layout before building—mark out main lines, branch routes, and maintenance depot areas.
Structural Considerations
Tunnels should be at least 3 blocks high to accommodate trains without clipping. Width depends on your track configuration; single-track tunnels need less space than double-track lines. Use support pillars periodically along the tunnel length for visual authenticity and to break up long corridors.
Adding Depot and Maintenance Areas
Create wider chambers along your tunnel network to serve as train depots and maintenance facilities. These areas can hold multiple trains parked side-by-side, as shown in the pack's depot screenshots. Use the same metro blocks to maintain visual consistency. Add lighting and decorative elements to make depots feel functional and lived-in, distinguishing them from passenger stations.
