Optimize Storage Usage with Buffer Settings

Understand the Storage Trade-off

Instant Replay Mod stores network packets, not full video files. This is far more efficient than recording raw video, but the buffer still consumes disk space. A longer buffer captures more gameplay history but uses more storage; a shorter buffer is lighter on your drive.

Adjust Buffer Duration for Your Disk Space

Open the mod's configuration and lower the clip duration if you're running low on storage. Even a 2–3 minute buffer lets you capture quick reactions and moments. Conversely, if you have plenty of space and want to reach back further into your session, increase the duration.

Monitor and Clean Up

Periodically check your exports folder and delete old clips you don't need. This frees up space for new buffer data. The mod itself doesn't auto-delete exports, so manual cleanup prevents your drive from filling up over time.

By tuning the buffer to your storage capacity, you maintain instant replay functionality without sacrificing disk space for other games or files.
