Track Your Coordinates in Real Time
Using the Compass Display
The compass tool replaces the need to open the F3 debug menu every time you need to check your position. Simply hold a compass in your hand, and your current X, Y, and Z coordinates will appear on your action bar (the hotbar area at the bottom of your screen).
Reading Your Position
The compass displays three numbers representing your location:
- X coordinate: Your east-west position (positive = east, negative = west)
- Y coordinate: Your vertical height (higher numbers = higher altitude)
- Z coordinate: Your north-south position (positive = south, negative = north)
Your facing direction is also shown, helping you navigate without confusion. This is especially useful when:
- Returning to a base or waypoint
- Coordinating with other players
- Exploring and mapping your world
- Finding your way back after getting lost
Tips
Keep a compass in your hotbar during exploration. The display updates in real time as you move, so you can monitor your position continuously without interrupting gameplay.
