Monitor Day and Night Cycles

Using the Clock Display

Hold a clock in your hand to see the current in-game time displayed on your action bar. The clock shows time in 24-hour format, making it easy to track the progression of day and night without opening menus.

Understanding Day and Night Indicators

The clock displays two key pieces of information:

  • Time of day: A 24-hour clock showing the exact in-game hour and minute
  • Phase indicator: Either "Day" or "Night" followed by a number

When it shows "Day," you cannot sleep—the sun is up and mobs are less active. When it shows "Night," you can enter a bed to skip to morning and reset mob spawning.

The number that follows indicates how many days or nights have passed in your world, helping you track your survival progress.

Practical Uses

Use the clock to:

  • Plan mining trips during daytime
  • Know when it's safe to sleep
  • Track your world age for speedruns or challenges
  • Coordinate activities with other players by time
