How to Recover from Near-Falls and Maintain Momentum
Recognize Recovery Opportunities
Not every near-fall means instant failure. If you land on the edge of a block or stumble slightly, you have a brief window to regain balance. Stop jumping momentarily, stand still for one block, then resume your run. This pause resets your positioning.
Prevent Momentum Loss
When you feel yourself sliding or tilting:
- Stop sprinting immediately
- Walk forward 1-2 blocks to stabilize
- Resume sprint only when centered on a block
Use Flat Sections Strategically
The path occasionally features longer, easier stretches. Use these to catch your breath and refocus rather than maintaining maximum speed. A slightly slower but controlled run beats a fast, panicked one.
Accept Falling as Learning
When you do fall, note exactly which jump caused it. Was it timing, positioning, or an unexpected obstacle? This information is more valuable than the distance traveled. Each fall teaches you something about the path's demands.
