Set Up Recording Overlay

Display Recording Duration

The Recording Overlay shows how long you've been recording, useful for content creators and streamers.

Activating Recording Mode

1. Press F9 (default key) to toggle recording overlay on

2. A timer appears on your HUD showing elapsed recording time

3. Press F9 again to stop and hide the overlay

What It Displays

The overlay shows:

• Total time elapsed since activation
• Format typically displays as minutes and seconds
• Remains visible throughout gameplay

Customizing the Key

If F9 conflicts with another mod or your preferences:

1. Check your mod configuration files

2. Rebind the recording overlay toggle to a different key

3. Save and restart

Use Cases

This feature helps:

• Track segment length for video editing
• Monitor stream duration
• Ensure you're recording during important moments
• Manage multiple recording sessions

The overlay is purely informational and doesn't affect actual recording—you still need OBS, Nvidia ShadowPlay, or similar software to capture video.
