Build a Long-Distance Railway Network
Preparing Materials
Long-distance railways require substantial quantities of rails. This mod makes that feasible without excessive grinding. Calculate your route length and determine how many normal rails you need, then add extras for curves and future expansions.
Efficient Crafting Strategy
1. Craft in batches. Since normal rails now yield 32 per recipe, each crafting session produces significantly more track.
2. Combine rail types strategically. Use normal rails for straightaways, powered rails at inclines or for speed boosts, and detector rails for automation triggers.
3. Transport materials to your building site using minecarts or your inventory.
Laying Track
1. Mark your route with torches or temporary blocks.
2. Place rails in a line, spacing powered rails every 38 blocks on flat terrain to maintain minecart speed.
3. Add powered rails at the start of your route and before inclines.
4. Install detector rails where you want to trigger redstone contraptions.
5. Test with an empty minecart before loading cargo.
The mod's increased output means you can build extensive networks without resource bottlenecks, making ambitious transportation projects practical.
