How Improved Village Placement Mod Changes Village Generation

Flatter Terrain, Fewer Glitches

Improved Village Placement Mod alters the terrain check that villages use when they generate. In vanilla, villages can appear on slopes and uneven ground, which often leaves buildings half-buried or floating. This mod makes the game look for flatter terrain before a village is placed, so the structures sit more naturally in the landscape.

The change applies to both vanilla villages and modded villages, so you do not need separate handling for each village type. Because placement favors level ground, you should see fewer floating structures and fewer terrain glitches where buildings clip awkwardly into hillsides.

This is a world-generation change, so it affects newly generated chunks. Existing villages in a world you have already explored will not move or change. If you want to see the effect, start a fresh world or explore terrain that has not been generated yet. No configuration or special items are involved — the mod simply adjusts how village placement decides where a village can appear.
