How Improved Boss Bars Works

Improved Boss Bars is a client-side mod that replaces the default boss health bar with custom artwork drawn for each boss fight. Instead of the plain vanilla bar, you get a dedicated frame that fits the boss you are facing.

The mod identifies which boss is on your screen by reading its name. When a boss appears, the matching health bar design is swapped in automatically. You do not need to configure anything or select a bar manually.

Supported Bosses and Multiplayer

Dedicated frames are included for vanilla bosses such as the Ender Dragon and the Wither, along with many popular bosses added by other mods. Because the mod only reads the boss name and changes how the bar is drawn on your end, everything happens on the client side. That means you can join multiplayer servers and still see the custom bars without any server-side installation or setup.
